"First"

*I received this book free from the publisher, Tyndale House, in exchange for an unbiased written review*

I don't know if you have ever heard of Crossfit, but it's a great way to get fit. Some people, like my handsome husband take it pretty seriously. He's actually now a crossfit instructor. As with everything men do, there are competitions for those who just have to see who's best. I laugh because I'm not competitive at all, but I do love to watch they guys battle things out. There are crossfit games for women too, don't get me wrong.

This is Rich Froning's story, the two time world champion who has been announced the fittest man on earth. I've watched him compete of course and know who he is because my husband is a fan. I have to admit he's amazing to watch but what is even better than his muscles is his kindness and generosity. After he whoops the other guys he encourages them to the finish and stands there cheering for them. I've seen it time and again. Inspirational.
I read this book knowing who he is, but enjoyed finding out more. Perhaps because I had some serious PMS and was a tad emotional, I had a good cry while reading about how he proposed to his gorgeous wife, Hillary. He's really romantic too?! Is there anything Rich lacks? This guy is the complete All-American package, an athlete, good looking as heck, smart, was a firefighter, is  a polite southern boy, and he loves his family. But what I am really impressed with is his faith in Christ and how he is open about it and shares it with the public and his fans. I follow him on twitter and he frequently tweets Bible verses.
If you're not a crossfit fan, you will still enjoy this wonderful guy's story. Young men in your life? By all means, get the this book. The world could use more men like Rich Froning. What a great role model.
First was a great read, now I better give it up to my husband who has been waiting to get his hands on my copy!
