The Life Giving Home Review

See inside here
This book by the well-known author and speaker Sally Clarkson and her daughter Sarah is like having a hospitality mentor. It's a gentle and sweet instruction in creating an atmosphere of rest and love and peace in the home. From meal times, bedtimes, caring for a sick child, welcoming company, etc. there's a plethora of homey topics. It puts me in mind of Edith Schaeffer's old book, The Hidden Art of Homemaking, except the homeschooling aspect because the Schaeffer's didn't homeschool. This book would suit anybody needing a little homemaking inspiration, especially young women just starting out.
The book is nicely done and in particular I liked the chapter entitled, "February: The Culture of Love". Sally said in it: " All our life accomplishments, from God's point of view, will be summed up by how much we loved God, and how much we loved other people." I love that! It pretty well sums up the message of the book too, and how to practically love each other- family, friends and neighbors.
