I Need Math Curriculum Help~

I need help! If you could please leave a comment with a suggestion of a very high quality, tried and true, video-driven math curriculum that goes all the way thru highschool, I'd be mighty grateful. Oh ya, I prefer that it requires no parental assistance! I stink at math. I'm not even allowed to balance the checkbook anymore. (there's a good reason for that *U* )

BJU, which we have done for 8 years is no longer an option, so I need something else. And in the middle of the year too! pooh!

  1. Hi Dalyn,
I am doing the same thing with Language arts with a couple of ours, switching now. I have since the beginning of our homeschool used Saxon math (the only curriculum I havent change in the 6 years we have done this) and have really found it user friendly. I am not good at math either and they have the DIVE software that goes with it. Even though I think the lessons themselves are pretty straight forward without the software. Hope this helps!

  2. (Disregard this if it comes through twice)

We are using Math U See and I love it. I was never great in math and I wish I had this program growing up. It makes math easy and there are DVD's to watch first. Kyle REALLY loves it. Curriculum is K-12. Here is the link to their website.

  3. Ooohhh not math, Queenie! I'm with you there- I stink at teaching Math. Have you looked at www.teachingtextbooks.com ? We're planning to use that starting next year for our oldest; I've tried just about everything else it seems(sigh) and have heard good things about this curriculum.

  5. We love Math U See also. It really fosters understanding and my kids do it almost entirely independently. My ninth grader in particular is able to do it with almost no interaction from me. We have also used Videotext very successfully, but prefer Math U See. Hope you find something that works!

    Blessings,
    Courtney

  8. I have been using Math U See for 3 years and love it. My kids are still little (K & 2nd) so they do need a little help. I love the teacher manual and the videos. They are great. I highly recommend them. That is the one subject we have never changed cirriclum. Good luck.
