High Raw Icecream

How does a body stay cool when it's triple digits on the thermometer?! Not easily. Tonight it's still in the high 90's and the kids are having a bowl of icecream. I want something creamy and cold too, but I'm eating 75% raw and want to do this right. So...
I came up with this:

Creamy Dreamy "Icecream"
In the food processeor I used the S blade and put in:
  • about a cup of cold raw got milk (use any raw nut milk, coconut milk, or even water if you had too.)
  • 2 to 3 frozen bananas
  • I added 1 large frozen strawberry for kicks (frozen cherries would be fantastic!)
  • blend until smooth
  • add 1/4 cacao nibs
  • 1/4 cup toasted pecans (totally raw folks add raw nuts of any kind)
  • *splash of vanilla

  • pulse this until well blended

  • Put this in a container and stick it in the freezer for an hour or two if you can hold out that long. If not, eat it like soft-serve.

Happiness in a bowl, and full of living foods, enzymes, vitamins, and other goodies. Guilt free pleasure!

  1. I'm going to be making this as soon as those bananas are frozen solid! Thanks for sharing - very impressed with all the things in your sidebars - still trying to figure out how to access some of them.

  2. Do you find that you feel better since eating more raw foods? I am so cold-natured that I think I'd have trouble with cold food all the time - do you find that to be an issue? Sorry for all the questions, and the frozen desert sounds wonderful!

  4. Dear Dalyn,

Hi there! It's been a while since I've visited, and I can see that I've missed a lot! We love raw banana ice cream, too. Regular ice cream, or even Soy Dream that we used to eat, is just salty and awful after the good stuff!

    Love,

  5. MMMM! With all the fresh fruit around these days, we have a lot of smoothies, but I've never put them in the freezer. Great idea!
