I have decided, since 40 is creeping up on me, and I am feeling worn down despite my much- healthier- than-most diet, that I am going to finally get serious. I will admit I am a sugar addict. Shocking. I know. It gives me migraines and I hate the taste of it, but crave it in the form of coffee cakes, mocha lattes, etc.
I know if I can kick that habit I won't crave it. I can't eat packaged, commercial stuff without getting sick now. The taste of dressing bought from a store shelf gags me...seriously. My tastes have changed, so I know I can give up sugar. I don't even like sweet things normally. Weird.
I also have another mole that looks suspicious and all those early years roasting away in the sun on foil blankets drenched in baby oil are going to be the death of me. I need to make a call to the dermatologist and get that cute little mole whacked.
I am on the elliptical at least 30 minutes 5 times a week, and I have taken up walking again. 3 miles. I eat only fruit in the morning, and all raw until after lunch. I'm working up to an 85% raw food diet. Even so, I am still gaining weight or at best maintaining 10 excess pounds.
It's hard to get old.
My back hurts.
At least I have a hot husband *U*
what are some of the things you are eating? So the rest of us unhealthy folks can benefit also:)
ReplyDeleteOh, Dalyn, I am sooo with you on the sugar addict thing. I would love to join you. I was just thinking this morning how I need to cut out sweet tea.
ReplyDeleteI have been catching up on you this morning and am glad to see things going well.
Blessings,
Trixi
I am so there with you....I "need" my sweets after dinner...actually after lunch and dinner:-)
ReplyDeleteBut already being in my "early" forties, I am feeling the aches and pains...and preimenopause....read my post on Mentalpause and you will understand my comment....Yikes...I'm getting old.
Sure hope your back gets better soon.
Connie
I agree, your husband is a hotty sista! :)
ReplyDeleteLove,
Jess
Oh yeah, about the food, try an all Japanese diet if you really want to shed the pounds!!! I don't know how healthy it is but it sure slims ya down.
Congrats on such an awesome commitment to health. I am such a sugar addict ... perhaps I should follow your lead =)
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of BodyBugg.com? They supposedly monitor your calorie intake and output through a monitor on your arm (and you logging your food on their site). It seems like a really cool gadget.
