You know some of the best and yummiest snacks are right under your nose. I find that people don't eat real food anymore and are appalled at some of the things I eat. Hilarious!
Here's a yummy idea instead of a greasy bag of chips: when you are cooking acorn or ANY other kind of squash (assuming you still eat those), scoop out the seeds and sprinkle them with salt or some kind of seasoning and roast them. I have found that all varieties of squash seeds taste fantastic like this. Most people do it once a year with pumpkin seeds, so it's not so unusual. I do it for a long time on a low temperature, like 170 or 200, depending on my time allowance. Most times I put them in there an hour at the lowest temp, and turn the oven off and leave them in there overnight. Crispy and yummy.
This was our snack today- roasted acorn squash seeds. I don't bother to rinse them off either, because they taste better with bits of squash guts on them *U*
I'm so wierd....today I discovered cheese sticks inside a warm flour tortilla with green taco sauce. I really liked it.
