Farmgirl Feet

I sadly realized this morning that I had no milk left in the fridge. This meant of course, morning milking chores in the barn would have to be done before I had my regular two cups of darkroast decaf with goat milk and honey.

Usually I drink my coffee and read my Bible before I do chores.

I geared up in jeans, boots, and a warm jacket to brave the cold morning without my comforts...sad, but true. Sniff. Sniff. I was happy to see the sun shining and the terrible wind was gone! That put me in a much better mood right away- that and the fact that I lost a couple pounds. That always makes a girl happy. (C'mon, you know it's true)

After milking the three girls and feeding them their hay, giving the pregnant barn kitties their morning bowl of milk, and letting my old friend rooster eat some of the goat's grain, I came inside, strained the milk, rinsed the pail and strainer to go into the dishwasher, and poured myself a cup of rich, hot coffee with a generous amount of fresh, raw goat milk and a bit of honey...ah!

Then I looked down...

I saw my feet: toenails painted pink, fuzzy pink slippers. I nearly laughed aloud, except everyone else is still in bed sleeping. I like it that way. Peace and quiet.
Do these look like a farmgirl's feet to you? Do these look like they belong to someone who milks goats? I had a good laugh at myself! It's going to be a good day. *U*

  3. That is too cute, Queenie! How did you keep those lovely pink fluff balls clean while wandering about in the barn? I think that is fabulous farmgirl footwear, it surely amused the animals!
