That's what the premise of this book is- you can stop living an ordinary, settling-for-less life and "live in a place called greater". It's a "next step" kind of book after his title "Sun Stand Still"- which I would love to read.
I thought at first that this book was going to be another disappointing Christian self-help book. I guess in a way it is like another self-help, but it wasn't disappointing and in a sense it was different that the plethora of oh-s-many- others out there. Can you tell I'm a little weary of reading those?
I really got the message about living the safe, good enough life and regretting it. I'm not a huge risk taker and neither is my husband (he's really not!) We don't mind being a tad radical or different, but "good enough" suits us just fine, except not really. If you want to be shaken out of your sleepy mediocrity, grab a copy of this book. It will most certainly do that.
Something I loved was the "voice" the author wrote with. He's got a sense of humor and he's relevant to our culture. He also focused on Elisha, a great O.T. prophet that I love reading about anyway.
Would I recommend this book? Yes. It's not something that made the clouds part for me or anything, but it may for you, and it was certainly well-written and revived for conviction that I have indeed been called to greater things. Greater faith. Greater relationships, greater care of others and most of all greater intimacy with Christ.
